The functions of the PhD Committee are: a) to set the requirements and additional criteria for the selection and admission of students to a doctoral programme and to allocate places consequently. b) to appoint a tutor and a thesis director for PhD students, as well as change them according to the provisions of these regulations.

The Dean will formally approve the joint thesis proposal and notify the Office of the Registrar. When the thesis is complete, it must be submitted to the students’ department of registration for acceptance. It is expected that each individual submitting a joint thesis will receive a single degree.

A thesis supervisor may, at his or her discretion, require progress reports in oral or written form as deemed necessary. Before the final written document is submitted, a draft may be required for editorial comment. An oral examination of the doctoral thesis will be held after the thesis has been submitted.
